Source records

Keep a backup before clearing?

This removes imported reports, source-row copies, import history, folder connection and saved settings for this dashboard in the selected local database.

Your source Excel files will not be deleted. This does not clear your browser’s website-visit history, cookies or data from other sites.

Local portable database

Your imported reports, settings and history are saved in inventory-db.json in the folder you choose. Choose a local folder on your computer, or open your existing database folder. The app saves the database there; it does not upload your reports to this website.

To move computers, close the app, copy the chosen database folder, open this website on the other computer and select the copied folder. Reconnect source reports if their location changes.

Previous populated data is backed up before the first save each UTC day in Data/Backups. Use one app window per database. Close the app before copying or syncing its Data folder.

To transfer your current hosted dashboard: export its full JSON backup, open this local database, then restore that backup in Data Workspace → Settings, definitions & data controls.

Install Inventory Insight

Preparing offline support…

Install this dashboard in Microsoft Edge or Chrome on this computer. It opens in its own app window and uses the local database folder you choose.

  1. Use the browser’s Install app icon in the address bar, or its menu → Apps → Install this site as an app.
  2. Open Inventory Insight from your Start menu or desktop.

Once offline preparation completes, you can open the app, review imported data and export tables without internet. Updates need an internet connection.

Connect a local report folder, including a locally synced OneDrive folder. Offline refresh needs the files available on this device. Refresh runs while the app is open; folder access may need approval when reopening.
